When I finished, there was a moment suspended. Then someone applauded. Then another. Applause filled the room. Some lowered their eyes, others cried.
I went back to my grandmother and reached out to her again. This time, she stood up straight, proud.
When the music started again, we were no longer alone on the dance floor. But I only saw her: the woman who had given me everything, finally recognized at her true value.
